  1. P-51D DOGFIGHT TRAINING

  3. Many regard the P-51D Mustang as the
  4. finest fighter of World War II.  The
  5. combined factors of its maneuverability,
  6. high altitude performance, and long
  7. range capabilities caused this aircraft
  8. to be loved by its pilots and the
  9. bomber crews they escorted, and dreaded
  10. by enemy pilots.  Of the thousands of
  11. Luftwaffe aircraft lost during the war,
  12. P-51s destroyed 4,950 (nearly 49
  13. percent).

  15.                     YOUR MISSION

  17. You begin this mission in prime firing
  18. position behind a pair of Bf 109s, but 
  19. that opportunity won't last for long.  
  20. Down the first pair quickly and you'll 
  21. be in good shape when the pair of 
  22. FW 190s arrives.  During the dogfight, 
  23. make use of the view keys on your 
  24. keyboard to look around and keep track 
  25. of the enemy planes.  Using the high
  26. angle views, you'll be able to maintain 
  27. visual contact with any aircraft you 
  28. choose while maneuvering to gain firing 
  29. position.
